Affiliate Associations

Worldwide & State Affiliate Associations

Why affiliate with the American Halter Horse Association?

That's easy!  Horses shown in Halter, which are registered with the AHHA and a member of the affiliate, could earn points through one and possibly both associations.  How does that work?  For instance, you decide to show your halter horse at your horse's affiliate breed show and you place well or you win.  While at the show, you document your placing, date of show and where the show was held.  Mail your information back to AHHA, we will verify the points earned and credit the points toward your horse papers.  It's like getting double points!  There is no signing up, just make sure your horse's association participates before trying to turn in points.

Association Affiliation

Worldwide Association Affiliations are available for any major breed associations, such as APHA, AQHA, APhC, AMHA and many, many more.  Affiliations are also available for color organizations such as PHBA, IBHA and many others.  The American Halter Horse Association accepts all breeds (from miniatures to drafts) who exhibit horses in halter.

For Associations to maintain their affiliation with AHHA, the following mandatory procedures must be adhered to:

  • All Association Affiliations must have at least five (5) AHHA members who hold the following office within their perspective organization:
    • President
    • Vice President
    • Secretary
    • Treasurer
    • Director
  • Affiliate Associations must not charge AHHA for clients' halter records (nor will AHHA charge them for the same information).
  • Affiliate Associations must offer a minimum of three halter classes (Stallions, Geldings & Mares) per show or organized event.
  • Affiliate Associations will receive a free AHHA website listing, that may include show dates, a link to the association, and special information that the association would like to display (with up to 10 pictures).  What a great way to advertise!
  • Affiliation fees are free to major breed associations who jointly participate.
  • Active members of the Association and AHHA can accumulate points when participating in Halter Classes.  The members must complete an Affiliate Association application and send it to AHHA for approval.  Once received and approved, the Affiliate Association will receive a recognition letter.
