New President Named
The American Halter Horse Association is proud to announce the second and newest organization President, Kimberly George Clark. Kimberly Clark is the owner of Tall Pines Quarter Horses in Floral City, FL. Last year Kimberly successfully started the Florida Halter Horse Association and became an active, committed, and involved member and organizer. In addition to volunteering her time for other shows and organizations, she was a supporter of The American Halter Horse Association sharing valuable and helpful suggestions.
American Halter Horse Association founding President Christie Lyday expressed a great deal of confidence and respect for Kimberly Clark’s abilities to take the lead of the organization, and was certain that Kimberly would be dedicated and resourceful in the role. We are excited for the future of the association and know that Kimberly will do a great job in the arena and the office.
On January 3, 2010, the AHHA Executive Committee voted unanimously to welcome Kimberly into the organization. However, because of paperwork that had to be completed, the announcement to turn the association over to the newly created executive committee could not be made until now. President Christie Lyday was reticent in her decision to step down as AHHA president, but a new business venture in late 2009 along with a heavy travel schedule prevented her from managing the association to the level she desired.
The American Halter Horse Association is well known for being an all-breed halter discipline association where one can achieve lifetime points in a multitude of in-hand classes. Exhibitors with disabilities are welcome to join in with special classes designed just for them. It was the Executive Committee’s dreams to have breeds compete against horses in their own breed, age and sex class; the Grand and Reserve Grand would compete against each other creating one World Champion winner and we are hopeful that the new Executive Committee will follow in those dreams. Our hope that the future of the association will be similar to NCHA and NRHA classes were one money earning winner will be named.
The American Halter Horse Association’s office records will be moving to Floral City, FL. Please watch the website for news and events in the Florida area. We will update the forms and website with the new address as soon as possible. The new address is:
